National Programme for Education of Girls of Elementary Education – NPEGL is being implemented in educationally nackward blocks where the level of rural female literau is less tan the national average and the gender gap is more than the natioan average and blocks having at least 5% SC/ST population with SC/ST literacy below 10%. Under NPEGL, 39852 model schools have been opened in addition to supporting Early Child Care and Education Centres.
