National Highway Development Project

    National Highway Development Project – is a project to upgrade, rehabilitate and widen major highways in India to a higher standard. The project was implemented in 1998. The NHDP has two major parts – the Golden Quadrilateral Project and the North – South, East –West Corridor Project. The Project is mainly funded out of the revenues from the petroleum cess. ( Rs. 2 cess on both Petrol and Diesel at present)
