Inflation Targeting

    Inflation Targeting – theoretically, inflation targeting is the monetary policy of a central bank in which the central bank concentrate on curtailing the price level in a unifocus manner. It involves the public announcement of medium term numerical targets for inflation with an institutional commitment by the central bank to achieve these targets.
    In India, the RBI is adopting the strategy of multiple targeting or targeting multiple variable like inflation, interest rate, exchange rate etc. Initiatives for future trading in agricultural commodities: Government removed restriction on future trading in all commodities to ensure stability in agricultural prices and to ensure adequate remuneration to farmers in a market-oriented manner. Three National exchanges for commodity future trading were created, National commodity and Derivative Exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange and National Multi commodity Exchange.
