Explain the functions of the Central Electricity Authority. – The CEA is responsible for overall planning & development of power sector in the country. CEA is a technical organization to advise and assist Central Government on matters relating to generation, transmission, distribution, trading and utilization of electricity etc. The main functions of CEA include specifying technical standards for construction of electrical plants; safety requirements for construction, operation and maintenance of electrical plants & lines; Grid Standards for operation and maintenance of transmission lines; the conditions for installation of meters for transmission and supply of electricity.
