Chinese communism
Will the pressure cooker burst?

“If we fail to handle corruption well, it will result in the fall of the communist party and the State” ——– Says President Hu

As China prepares itself for a leadership change, the clouds of separatism and corruption cumulate over the Communist nation.

Four Tibetans in Sichuan and Qinghai provinces set themselves on fire. The President himself and his successor are facing corruption scandals. The populist leader Bo-Xilai has already been removed from communist party.

For the first time in the history of Communist China, its main leadership themselves acknowledges the threats they are facing. Hu Jintao asks the army to prepare for a Local War.

Corruption and separatism are not new threats. But when they arise in a politically totalitarian state, where there is little scope for freedom of speech and expression, the system may not withstand the rising pressure. There are no safety valves for the pressure cooker. It will burst. Authoritarian regimes around the world had fallen due to the above said reason.

Peoples Republic of China may receive a similar fate.

The explosions from Tibet, Xinxiang etc. may prove fatal and may shake the foundation of Communist China. “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”. Hence what is happening in China was long expected. It is better for the Chinese leadership, not to attempt suppression of the unrests, as they did in Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.With the largest number of world’s total Netizens any such move will invite catastrophe.

Even though the President has ruled out copying of western style democracy, he and his successor must try to provide safety valves as required.

If not Xi Jinping may become the next Gorbachev.
